The Continuing Board Certification: Vision for the Future Commission (Commission), whose members were announced last month, is already hard at work. Commission members have immersed themselves in the continuing certification process and have initiated discussions on the current system. Throughout the process, the Commission will seek feedback from a diverse group of stakeholders using a variety of methods including an open survey launched in February. To date, the survey response has been strong with more than 2,000 completed responses. As an important first opportunity to participate in the process, the survey will remain open for comment until May 11. As the Co-Chairs of the Commission, we encourage you to complete the survey, if you have not done so already, and share it with your organizations and colleagues for them to participate as well.
The survey and other opportunities for feedback and input are available on the Vision Initiative website. Please bookmark this site for easy access and engagement throughout the process. In addition, we hope you will share this update with your colleagues and encourage them to engage with the Vision Initiative process.
The Commission members hosted a three-day meeting this week in Washington, DC. Participants provided their perspectives and experiences with continuing certification and their thoughts about opportunities with the future system. A meeting summary will be posted on the Vision Initiative website as well as an opportunity for stakeholders to share comments on themes that emerged from the discussion. Links to the report and feedback will be featured in our next update and subsequent communications. We encourage you to routinely check the website for additional opportunities to participate in the Vision Initiative process.
On behalf of the Commission, we want to thank you for your engagement in the Vision Initiative and participation in providing feedback and direction either through completing the survey or sharing comments via the website. In the coming weeks and months, we will have an even greater work product to share and more opportunities for you to offer input, suggestions, and feedback.
